Second Blog Post: Le Detour

The first cafe that I would like to introduce is "Le Detour". On the journey to visit this cafe, you can notice why the cafe is called Le Detour. "Le Detour", named after the phrase “unexpected beauty that you met on the way back,” is located in a quiet town in Suwon, passing under the highway and entering the narrow road where you can see Mt. Gwanggyo.

The reason I wanted to introduce Le Detour first was because of its beautiful architectural design. Judging from the photos, this building gives the impression of a very expensive and pretty home, or an art gallery, or an exhibition hall rather than a cafe. However, in that the original purpose of this building was for a cafe, it shows how great the growth of cafes in Korea has been. It is also a piece of evidence that proves people go not only to places where desserts taste good but also to places that are pretty and grand in appearance.

In fact, it's incredibly spacious inside, and there's plenty of seating. Nevertheless, it is difficult to find a seat if you go on weekends or holidays because it is a cafe where people come from all over the region.

There is not enough bread in the cafe as well as the seats.
Most cafes in Korea have great competitiveness in desserts, so not only the taste is good, but also the design is very pretty. For that reason, many people mainly buy desserts and bread and it sells very quickly. In addition, Bakers at "Le Detour" bake and sell fresh bread and cakes on the same day. Therefore, the number of desserts they can handle per day is limited so even if you visit a cafe and find a seat, you may not be able to taste the desserts.

The reason I highly recommend visiting Le Detour is because of this rooftop. Due to the pandemic situation, people have anxiety and reluctance to gather in confined spaces. However, this cafe has a lot of outdoor seating and the rooftop is very spacious. For this reason, people who are reluctant to confined spaces can enjoy coffee on the rooftop, and it is perfect for refreshing with a companion. Also, unlike other seats where you have to sit unconditionally, you can feel cozy and comfortable because you can take the most comfortable position, lying down.

If you are looking for a pretty cafe, delicious desserts, a beautiful natural environment, and a cafe where you don't have to worry about Corona, this is the place to visit!!

  1. You should make it clear where the place is, share the location, in a more prominent position within your blog. (higher up). Also, include interactive link(s) to the online restaurant site (when available).
